CDE receives S$25,000 gift from MCF – Lodge Singapore

The Masonic Charitable Fund – Lodge Singapore recently donated S$25,000 to the College of Design and Engineering (CDE).

Dr. Brian Shegar, Chairman of Masonic Charitable Fund (MCF), and Professor Aaron Thean, Dean of CDE, signed a donation agreement on January 27, 2022.

According to Dr. Shegar, CDE was chosen as the first beneficiary within NUS by the MCF because it resonates with the origins of Freemasonry, which began with the Guilds of Stone Masons, the original architects, engineers, designers, and sculptors who built cathedrals, castles, and other structures during the Medieval Era.

Dr. Shegar presented Professor Thean with a cheque on behalf of the Masonic Charitable Fund – Lodge Singapore.

The contribution will enable the College to provide one bursary (of up to S$2,500) to financially disadvantaged students each academic year.

The charity’s great contribution in creating a better future for our youth is deeply appreciated by the College of Design and Engineering (CDE). The donation is critical to delivering an uplifting breeze in support of our students’ goals.
