The National University of Singapore’s (NUS Medicine) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine recently received a $150,000 endowed gift to create the Masonic Charitable Fund-Ronald Ng Lodge Mt. Faber Bursary.
On October 26, 2022, Dr. Brian Shegar, Chairman of the Masonic Charitable Fund, Dr. Ronald Ng, donor for the Masonic Charitable Fund-Ronald Ng Lodge Mt. Faber Bursary, and Prof Chong Yap Seng, Dean of NUS Medicine signed a donation agreement.
“The Masonic Charitable Fund, which has established many endowments with the NUS College of Design and Engineering, is pleased to embark on its first endowment with the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, to provide bursaries to financially disadvantaged medical undergraduates.” Dr. Shegar added.
“The Masonic Charitable Fund and Dr. Ronald Ng’s commitment to help disadvantaged students with this contribution is very honorable.” Prof Chong stated.
The contribution would allow the School to give up to two bursaries (of up to $6,000 each) to financially disadvantaged Singaporean students each year.
NUS Medicine is grateful to the charity and Dr. Ronald Ng for their kind support in providing bursaries to eligible needy students so that they can pursue their aspirations and serve Singapore as compassionate and capable doctors.
